Have you ever seen a glimpse of a real elf’s hat with a white pom-pom? Or perhaps heard the jingle of a small lace bell? Have you ever thought how busy Old Rauma’s elves are during Christmas? And do these lacemakers’ relatives speak the Rauma dialect?

In The Christmas Elf Courtyard in Tammela, you can explore the busy and exciting life of Old Rauma’s elves, peek into their secret hiding places in attics and cellars, or volunteer to be an elf and help the old town’s busy residents with their Christmas preparations.

The beautiful Christmas lights and courtyard decorations create a magical and peaceful atmosphere where joy, warmth, and happiness come together. The Lace Town elves are already busy preparing for Christmas – and waiting for your help.

The Christmas Elf Courtyard in Tammela is open from 26 November – 26 December, 2022. The Elf Courtyard is open to the public every day, free of charge. The courtyard at its best in the evening when the lights are on from 15.00 forward. On weekends, you can also take part in free Elf Trails in courtyard and paid Elf Workshops inside Tammela.

Elf Trails

Guided Elf Trail is organized free of charge twice a day 26.–27.11., 3.–4.12., 6.12., 10.–11.12. and 17.–18.12. at 10.00 and at 14.00.

Duration of the trail is about 30–45 minutes, max group size is about 15 persons and the guidance is in Finnish. The trail is organized by the elves of Tammela from event production company Luanista.

Christmas Workshop for Children

Tammela’s elves’ Christmas craft workshop is organized 26.11., 3.12., 6.12., 10.12. ja 17.12. at 13.00. Duration of the workshop is about one hour and the price is 10 €. Workshop is for children age 7–12. Instructions and guidance is in Finnish.

Programme organized by the Parish of Rauma

The Parish of Rauma have programme in The Christmas Elf Courtyard in Tammela from Monday to Wednesday 12.–14.12. at 9.00–11.00 and at 13.00–15.00. It is also possible to visit Tammela with a group. Programme is in Finnish.
